Plac Narutowicza

Views of proposed 33,000sqm mixed-use redevelopment of Plac Narutowicza in South West Warsaw, Poland. The design was developed to re-establish the dense urban grain of old Warsaw and provide a thriving heart for the historic district of Stare Ochota. The development includes a mixture of retail, commercial and residential space and 450 underground parking spaces. The re-landscaped square has been reconfigured for people to use throughout the year. The architectural focus is on the important church opposite, as was originally intended in the pre-war master-plan. The existing tram lines and traffic flow were also reconfigured to optimise the public space and improve accessibility. The proposed Metro Line 3 will ensure excellent urban connectivity with direct access to the new station from the new square.
