Jubiliee Fleet House, East London for Lon

This building provides accommodation for the Jubilee line management staff and train crew. It was the first eco-building for London Underground, planning using passive design principles within a highly insulated envelope using sheep’s wool. The east façade copper cladding is 100% recyclable and is both maintenance-free and long-life. The Siberian larch cladding to the west façade has a life expectancy of 70 years locking in the carbon for this period. It should not require maintenance during this period, eventually fading to a silver-grey colour. The roof is finished with 350sqm of sedum adding to opportunities for biodiversity.
